DESCRIPTION:DAN PRESENTS: THE ICE-CREAM VAN PROJECT  \nWORKSHOP N.2 / Midsummer Flower Collage Workshop with Sadie Hennessy at Huggens College \n  \nOn Saturday 25th June 2022\, DAN will be hosting an arts engagement workshop with the residents of Huggens College in Northfleet\, in collaboration with GAS and Northfleet Big Local. It is the second in a series of public engagement activities across the summer in Dartford and surrounding areas led by Dartford Arts Network and funded by Creative Estuary. \nThe workshop is part of the overall Ice Cream Van project\, which looks at arts mobility along the estuary\, but this event will more specifically focus on artist-led activities which engage with older people who may have been negatively impacted in access to culture by lack of mobility and the Covid pandemic. \nOur focus is to challenge this limited access by taking art opportunities to the participants\, with the specific theme of this event being Midsummer\, and the memories and feelings evoked by this time of year. \nWe have commissioned artist Sadie Hennessey to run a flower collage making workshop with the residents of Huggens College. Sadie has worked with the residents before\, and will use cuttings from old magazines and photos to evoke memories of midsummer and past times. The workshop will be a chance for participants to look at images\, chat\, sift\, think\, feel\, communicate and then convey all of this into a final curated art piece\, with help from Sadie. \nLook out for images of the final pieces which will be posted here next week!
